Allectra is a multinational company manufacturing and distributing high end vacuum components to universities, major scientific research institutes including many synchrotrons and high profile names as CERN and NASA.
Problem
Allectra approached us regarding upgrading their customers online experience, one element of this was to provide an easy to use E-Commerce system as their products were complex in nature. Their requirements meant other E-Commerce platforms couldn’t give them exactly what they wanted.

The Checkpoint platform was built to provide businesses with a bespoke E-commerce system that was modular in nature and can be adapted and modified for new features.
Search
Allectra wanted their customers to be able to find what they were looking for even though they have a complex product range. We implemented the fastest search possible, which filters the entire product range instantaneously.
Modular
A key component was to be able to build extra bespoke features into the platform to improve their business operations. For example a product builder that could save their sales team time.
Responsive
Most of their customers are lab technicians so the website had to work on mobile devices especially tablets so they could keep their catalogue on hand at all times.
Legacy ERP Intergration
Like all Manufacturers Allectra use an ERP system that is not as future friendly as it could. They wanted to be able to maintain one system which automatically syncs with the online shop. Therefore we set about creating a legacy ERP API to integrate directly with the Checkpoint system. This allows the product data, pricing and stock levels to be easily maintained.
